What is Incontinence?  The definition of urinary incontinence set forth by the International Continence Society is the involuntary loss of urine which causes a social or hygienic problem.

In a healthy person, the urinary sphincter muscle controls bladder storage. In men, it is located below the prostate. The sphincter muscle surrounds the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body.
