. . . Our History
Illinois Urological Institute, S.C. was incorporated in 1995 by John G. Christensen, M.D. under the name of DuPage Urological Consultants, S.C. He was raised in Wheaton and after completing his medical training, returned to his home town and started a solo practice in 1988 at Wheaton Medical Clinic. In 1990 he opened another office at Mona Kea medical Park and continued at Wheaton Medical Clinic as an independent contractor.
In 1995 Dr. John Plante joined the practice which was then renamed DuPage Urological Consultants. The offices were moved to Danada Square in Wheaton and an additional office was opened in Geneva on the Delnor Hospital campus.
In 1999 Dr. Eric Lenting joined the practice. Services were expanded to include more in-office procedures, urodynamics, and bladder retraining. Additional offices were opened in North Aurora on the Copley Memorial Hospital campus. The practice was renamed Illinois Urological Institute to better reflect this broad range of services and locations.
In 2004 Dr. Michael Rashid joined the practice.
In 2006 the Danada Square office in Wheaton relocated to the Campus of Central DuPage Hospital Ambulatory Services Pavilion. Services and procedures are continually being evaluated and introduced for our patients. Our service area extends from Glen Ellyn to DeKalb and from Algonquin to Morris.
In 2012 Deborah R. Daniels, APN became part of our team. Prior to joining us, she worked as a registered nurse (RN) at Rush-Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center for over six years and specialized in urological and gynecological post-operative patient care. While there, she attended Rush University of Nursing and became a Nurse Practitioner. Deborah provides holistic patient-centered care focusing on patient support and education. Special interests include prostate cancer, osteoporosis, incontinence, urinary tract infections, kidney/ureter stones, and erectile/sexual dysfunction.
